Paris, Day 1

So I've survived another crazy conference. Sadly I don't have too many photos of Barcelona this year.  We just worked so much and I decided to make a dash for Paris as soon as I could.  Also I was exhausted.  I think I averaged about 5 - 6 hours of sleep each night.  Last night I got about 2.  Though of course that was my own fault.  Boy do the Fox people know how to party!

Now I've made it to Paris.  Sometimes the best experiences are the ones you don't expect.  So today, it was riding on the back of a motorcycle from the airport instead of in a taxi.  Yep, that's right, he strapped my luggage to the back, put a jacket and a helmet on me and drove me into Paris on a Harley. It was amazing.  :-)

Now I'm sitting in the flat I've rented for the next week, trying to stay awake long enough to not be up at 4AM.  As I sit here and write this, my downstairs neighbors are clearly rehearsing for some kind of show.  So lovely piano music and French singing are drifting up through the central courtyard.  For me, the weather is perfect.  It's slightly cool outside and I'm sitting in the living room with the windows open.  It's so perfect, it's almost a movie cliche.  And yet, it's not.

Yep, I'd definitely be willing to live here.  Even if I will have to go up and down three flights of stairs.  I've got a few things planned for the next week, some I've done before and some are new.  Can't wait to share everything with you all.

Well as usual I dove straight into work when I got to Barcelona.  However, I was able to sneak a little time today for a tiny bit of sightseeing.  Here are some travel photos to whet your appetite.

Saw some amazing clouds on the flights.  Randome I know, but who hasn't wanted to live on a cloud?

And as we flew into Barcelona, this was the view.

After a short time to refresh, it was off to meet a client.  Luckily she's a fun one, so the meeting consisted of amazing food and cava.  Lots and Lots of Cava.

That was a very long night.  And it was a very early morning.  Up we got to head to a screening at 8AM.  Surprisingly, the movie was really good so it was worth getting up for.  After more boring work stuff, I headed out with Patrick, Lissy and Chris, ready to see a few sights.

Though we weren't able to go inside anything here, it was wonderful to be back in this city and at least see the sights.  So enjoy some Gaudi and I hope to be back with more soon.  Though it will probably be a few days.   Enjoy!

Heathrow

Once again I'm sitting at Heathrow airport.  Lucky for me, I'm in the BA lounge so it's not too bad.  I think I've finally made peace with this place.  I know I shouldn't say this, but I haven't had any major issues since the great luggage affair of 2007.  Here's hoping it stays that way.  So far, word from Barcelona is that the set up for our presentation is going well.  I also have been told that the weather is fantastic.  Not that I'll be able to enjoy it until Tuesday or Wednesday.  Sadly I still don't have any pictures to share, but once I check into the hotel in Barcelona, I'll post that.  Hang on for a few more hours my friends.

Countdown

Hello travel readers!  The countdown has begun.  In just under two weeks I'll be headed out again.  First stop is Barcelona for our yearly conference.  It's going to be a big year!  I hope to fit in a little sightseeing so look for updates to begin around the 21st.  I won't promise an update every day in Barcelona, because it would bore you to tears. However, after the conference I'm headed back to Paris.  I know, some of you are thinking, we've already done this.  Yes, Paris is the city where I launched this blog over a year ago.  But come on guys, it's Paris!   I have a lot of new things on the agenda so I'm sure it will be fun.
