Portugal, Algarve Coast Days 6/7

Well I warned you that there wouldn't be too many posts here in the Algarve.  We've spent a good deal of time just chilling by the pool and taking it easy.  Which is exactly what I needed.  It's been a long couple of months and I was at the end of my endurance.

We started the day taking a drive down to the beach down the cliff from our hotel.

Then off we went to Faro to have a look around.  We discovered a cute little town with plenty of shopping... unfortunately the "chapel of bones" we had come to see was closed for a few days.  We did manage to stop for ice cream at a little restaurant that had a wall and a door that dated to before the earthquake of 1755.  The owner had fun showing us around for a bit.  Including the well in the center of the house that had been there since the 11th century.  Of course I managed to not take photos.  Kind of sad for me to forget, but we were enjoying the house so much.

Next it was off to the Palacio de Estoi.  A Rocco building that is now revived as a small luxury hotel.  We were able to wander the grounds and take photos as we liked.

Well that was the end of Day 6... well dinner was the end, but there aren't any photos of dinner.  :-)

So that brings us to today!  First thing we were up and headed to the Albufeira Marina for a boat tour.  And it didn't disappoint.

The very last thing I wanted to see was the Benagil Cave.  It's made the rounds on Insta and Pinterest, and I thought for a beat we wouldn't see inside as our boat was too big... boy was I wrong.

After that, it was time for a picture perfect cafe overlooking the Albufeira beach.

Now the day is almost done.  We hit the road tomorrow for a new city and a new adventure.  (while trying to avoid melting in the European heat wave!)
